These are Vday flowers my hubby sent me from Iraq! Well, he ordered them from Iraq!
He has been gone since October and I do have to admit, time is flying. It's already almost time for his two week R&R and I am anxiously awaiting word on when that will be.
Before he left my parents came and took the boys back to PA with them so Clay and I had two weeks alone. We had so much fun. We went to the movies, shopping, bike riding. But my favorite- we went to Graceland!!! We made some really good memories for this year he's gone.
Caleb adjusted really well in his school. I am really happy with the school. I made alot of new friends thru the school and we meet every Monday at a donut shop for coffee and get togethers in between. This Friday we're going out to dinner and bowling which should be...Interesting.
Well, I'm off to go visiting and see how you all are doing!

Well, we're getting down to crunch time. We have an Inspection on our house on Wed. so today and tomorrow I'm going to be doing big cleaning. The nicer the house looks the cheaper our cleaning bill will be! You really only pay alot if you didn't take care of things, like the floors, oven & fridge and we really did so it shouldn't be too bad. I saw pictures of inspections that haven't passed and we are nothing like that- yuck!
We have been trying to find a storage unit to rent and everything is full b/c of all the deployments. Clay finally found a place in Hopkinsville so it's a little bit of a drive but it could be worse, his friend had to rent one in Nashville! I didn't know where to buy boxes or what stores to call to get them and on the way home someone near us must have just moved in b/c they had boxes out front! So I knocked and asked if we could have them so we took them home, so now we have boxes and storage so we're set. We can start loading things up and taking them to storage instead of rushing at once.
On to bigger and better news- We bought a new van! We got a 2005 Toyota Sienna. We got the one with the DVD player so that'll be a big help for the boys on the drive home. I love this van!
We have about three more weeks together so it's starting to hit me that he's really going back to Iraq again. It went by so fast last time so I'm sure this time will, too.

Today is my hubby's birthday!!!!
He is so busy with work, he wasn't even able to come home for lunch. But it's his bday so I guess I can choke it down...literally!
I've been busy sorting things in the house. I'm trying to get rid of things I don't want in storage for a year including toys and the boys are not happy about it!
Clay has been really busy and now they are starting to pack their bags, next week they have to turn in bags that are being shipped to Iraq so that the bags are ready for them by the time they get there.
It has been so nice having him home for a year, I'm not ready for him to go back. But the sooner he leaves the sooner he'll be back again.
Happy Birthday, Clay!!!! Yesterday Clay had practice for what they'll be doing in Iraq. (I have no idea what it's called lol) So he left at 4am and didn't get home til almost 11pm. The boys and I hung around here for the most part and then later my friend called to see if I wanted to go bowling with her and her kids. After that I went to Border's to get a book for Clay. It was pictures from Iraq but the back cover had a Soldier from Clay's unit on it. I came home and after the boys went to bed I talked to a friend on the phone for a little bit and then just watched a movie while waiting for Clay to get home.
Today we just ran errands and came home and bummed around. We played board games with the boys and then we played some card games. Clay let me be a couch potato and I admit...I watched "Clueless" (I missed you K!)
It was a nice, lazy day and I'm not ready for Monday!

I am the worst blogger! I have been super busy but wanted to take a minute to update. Clay and I went on a cruise! My sister watched the boys for us. We had a great week. We left port in Miami and went to the Bahamas, St. Thomas & St. Maarten. It was fabulous! Clay got orders for Iraq again so we wanted to do something fun before he left. We went back to PA to pick up the boys and then we took a four car convoy from PA to KY with my mom, dad, sister, nephews, me, Clay and my kids. My mom and I drove down to LA with my sister and spent the weekend with them. Clay & my dad stayed here with the boys. It was fun with just the girls. Tuesday we took my parents to Nashville and walked around Opry Mills Mall and ate at the Aquarium rest. They left this morning and today I'm trying to deal with the "real world" again. Back to grocery shopping, cleaning, laundry, etc. We met a couple on the cruise that live about two hours away so we were planning on meeting in Nashville this weekend but I forgot I have to dog sit for a friend, she has two dogs so I don't want to go to Nashville and leave three Golden retrievers running around my house all day! lol

My poor Caleb is so sick! He missed school all last week but Friday b/c of a fever. Then Saturday he was sleeping all day and today he slept again and his fever came back. It sounds like he has mono! There is nothing I can do til Tuesday when his Doctor will be open again. He is doing better tonight thankfully.
I had to watch my friends kids for a night while she took her daughter to the ER b/c her temp was 105, so something is really going around here. I had just been bragging too that the flu passed over us when Caleb got sick!
We were supposed to have friends come visit for the weekend but they cancelled last minute b/c their daughter got a fever and cough. I was really bummed b/c it was a four day weekend so had I known they weren't coming I could have gone home!
Today I bought bubble bath and a bath pillow and I was just about to get pampered when my friend called me. Her son lost her car keys (her only set) while they were at IHOP and her husband is away at training so she called me crying asking me to pick her up. It's too late now for a bath so I think I'm going to go talk Clay into making me a milk shake! LOL

I took a tad bit longer of a break then I intended too! LOL
I have been so busy lately but having a good time. We ended up going home right after Cmas and staying almost two weeks. I had an absolute blast, of course!
My schedule is crazy lately- Joshua started speech appts. twice a week, I have a women's group I go to once a week, Joshua has Library school every Thursday and I joined MOPS here. Well having something every day is getting to me so I think I am going to cut one or two things out. I love to be home, not running around. (Karen, I know you know how I feel!)
We had some company this past weekend. We had friends when we were stationed at Ft. Lewis five years ago that we were really close with. Well I moved to PA and they got stationed in Germany so we lost touch. We found them recently and found out they got out of the Army and moved to their home town... 2 hours away! So they came here Friday for the weekend. It was like old times!
Clay is in the field this week and then in March he goes to Ft. Polk for training for five weeks. He came home from work last week with a bullet proof vest that they passed out to his Unit...so orders for Iraq are coming upon us again.
Other then that...life is the same around here! Hope you're weekend was better then mine! ;-)

Well, my parents left this morning. :-(
I hate saying goodbye but I know I'll see them soon. I have some pics I'll upload later.
I have no time to dwell though, I have a super busy week, unfortunately. My friend is going on a cruise with her husband and asked me to watch her two kids and two dogs. Instead of leaving the dogs there I bring them here b/c it's just easier then walking back and forth. What I didn't plan on what the thunderstorms we're having all week. Here in KY we don't have mud, we have that red clay. So there are little red footprints ALL OVER my house!! I bent over to wipe one of their feet and just as I bent over she jumped up and we bumped heads, so I have a knot on my forehead. When I yelled I scared the other dog so she peed on my floor. I put her outside, cleaned up the pee, brought her back in, bent over to clean her paws and she peed again. I went upstairs to fold laundry and thought I smelled poop. One of them had pooped in the spare room and in the boys room on the floor, blanket and talking Care Bear! I cleaned that all up and opened all the windows to air out the upstairs. I got in the shower and here the rain had come down very hard and I had puddles under all six windows.
Then my other friends calls and says her Uncle died and she has to go to the funeral in Virginia so could I watch her kids after school until her husband picks them up this week.
So I'll have six kids and three dogs all week.
Am I a good friend or what?? lol

Clay, Eli, Joshua, Caleb

It's almost the weekend and I haven't even posted about last weekend yet! Friday we went to the park with some friends to let our dogs play. That night they came over to play some board games. Saturday we had to run to Wal Mart for some things and then hung around the house for the day. I had a friend come over who needed to talk, she's been having marriage problems ever since her husband came back from Iraq. Sunday after church we took the boys to the play ground. We had so much fun. We let the boys play for a little bit and then we played soccer and then Clay and I put the leaves in a big pile and we wrestled in the leaves. Jonah loves to play in the leaves!!! I can't for the life of me think what we did on Monday but I do remember Monday night the four of us played Yahtzee! LOL I really need to learn to update more often!
My parents are coming to visit this weekend and I'm soooo excited. It's been awhile since I've seen them. I have really been missing my sister, I wish she was able to come but she can't b/c her boys have school. Oh well, Different Strokes for different folks I guess. ;-)
These are some pics of the Orchard last weekend.

Caleb & Joshua

Sunday was such a beautiful day! It was a little chilly but I love sweaters and jackets season so I was happy. After church we came home and grilled and then we left to go to Lacy's Apple Orchard. We had a blast. They had a band there playing blue grass so we sat and listened for a little bit. Then the boys got to go in a petting zoo and they had a ton of those inflatable slides and obstacle courses. They had a hay ride but it was really long so we weren't able to do that b/c of the time. We went and got nachos, hot dogs, polish sausage and funnel cakes and sat on the hay eating and listening to the band. Then we went in the Corn Maze. Clay and Joshua went one way and Caleb and I went another. They would have signs with yes or no questions and you would go the way that you answered. If your answer was wrong you got to a dead end. It was alot of fun and Caleb and I won! (Yes, we did Clay!) Then we went to the pumpkin patch and picked out a pumpkin for me. Every fall I get a pumpkin and spray paint it gold and then put a pretty ribbon around the stem.
Last night a friend came over and ended up staying til almost ten. On a school night! But we were having so much fun and my boys love to play with her kids.
I have to go walk with a friend now so I'll do my visiting later!

This has been such a fun weekend so far. Yesterday a friend came over in the morning to exercise and I did Taebo for the first time. Then Clay came home early so we went to the Olive Garden for lunch. We had to run to Wal Mart for some things and then came home and putzed around. Last night instead of Caleb's regular soccer practice, they had parents vs the kids. Clay sat with Joshua while I played, omg it was sooo fun. But I was a ball hog! LOL We came home and the boys got in their sleeping bags and we all watched a movie.
Today was the post wide yard sale. Clay stayed with our stuff while I went around with a friend. I didn't find much but we went a little late. We made a little over a hundred here though, so I'm happy. I was getting ready to clean up and someone else came and spent forty dollars!
Tomorrow I'm going to make a roast for dinner so I'm going to see if some friends want to come over after church.
I hope you all are having a great weekend!

First off I'd like to thank Debbie for getting me out of baby fever! LOL The diaper bag is what really got me believe it or not. I hated those days, esp with Clay gone for almost three years straight -I did it all alone. I deserve this break now! What was I thinking??
Yesterday Josh and I were playing outside and we heard a helicopter so we stood up to look for it. It was a Kiowa heli (I think lol) and it was flying super LOW. They had the door open and one of the passengers was sitting on the side with his legs dangling out. I picked Joshua up and we waved to him and he waved back! Joshua thought that was soooo awesome. Okay, I admit...it was.
We are having friends over tomorrow for a barbecue so I have to do some serious cleaning. I'll try and do my visiting later.

We had a busy weekend but a nice one. Saturday Caleb's game went really well. He got to play goalie so he was happy about that. His coach told us that he can see that Caleb is really starting to understand the game and is playing better & better. :-)
Sunday after church Clay's friend came over to watch Football with Clay and I made lunch for him. Well Joshua was laying on the couch and Clay asked him what was wrong and he said he was tired. I felt his forehead- he had a fever. I put him in my bed to rest. So while Clay and his friend were watching tv and Joshua was sleeping Caleb and I went to this flea market that we pass every Sunday on the way to church. It was alot of fun just the two of us.
This morning I was at a meeting and a woman was there with her newborn who was fussing. So I held him for about an hour and boy did I get baby fever- Please someone...get me out of this! He had a fever of 102!! He wasn't sick at all in the morning before school and they called at 10:30am so I don't know what happened to that poor little guy! Poor Clay had to leave formation to go get Caleb. He was in formation b/c Donald Rumsfeld was here to talk to the troops. USA! USA! USA! FOUR MORE YEARS!
So Clay didn't get to see him at all. Caleb ended up missing two days of school.
We don't have any plans this weekend. Tonight Caleb has soccer practice and he'll have a game tomorrow. Sunday Clay's friend is coming over for lunch and to watch a football game...or whatever sport is on this time of year. LOL
So, I guess we do have plans this weekend! It was really hard to say goodbye *again* but I know we'll get together again soon.
We had a really nice weekend. Caleb started soccer and yesterday was his first game. It was so fun to watch a bunch of five year olds that have no idea what they're doing! It was so stinking hot though. When we came home I filled up the pool and the boys swam while Clay cleaned out the garage. Oct 2 is the post wide yard sale so we're getting ready for that. Last night we went to the walking trail and the boys and I rode our bikes while Clay and Jonah ran. We came home and popped pop corn and watched a movie and let the boys stay up late. Well, Caleb stayed up late, Joshua fell asleep on my lap at 9:30.
The Steeler's are on tv here so Clay's excited about that.
I see Debbie's back in the US of A so I'm going to go read about her visit!
Have a great week!

We leave for PA tomorrow afternoon. I'm cleaning today so that tomorrow I don't have to do anything but pack. Joshua and I went for a walk after lunch and then I let him play at the play ground for a little while. He is so excited about going to see everyone, he's counting down the days and made me show him on the calendar what day we leave. Caleb told his teacher that he'll be absent from school on Friday b/c he's going to PA and his teacher told him, "That's great, but we'll miss you here."
I'm going to go finish laundry before I have to get Caleb off the bus.
Have a great weekend!

Well all my family left last night. :-(
We had such a good visit, as usual! I was really sorry to see them leave but Clay and I have decided to go home to PA for Labor Day weekend so we'll see them in less then a week! lol
Clay might only get a three day weekend instead of a four, but we're going home regardless.
We are dog sitting for my friend and she has a beautiful Golden Retriever named Ally. All we're supposed to do is let her out twice a day and feed her, but she is so good I'm thinking about getting her and just bringing her here while they're gone, I don't like thinking of her sitting there alone all weekend.
I was hoping we could ride bikes this weekend but the sky is very orange and I think it's going to storm so I guess we'll be in all day.
I better hop off here and atleast get to Wal Mart today. Tonight we were out running errands and when we got home Caleb threw up. Clay came home from work Saturday morning and slept for awhile. The boys and I just hung around here. When Clay got up we went out to eat and then to Wal Mart. This morning we went to church and spent the rest of the day at home.
We watched Lord of the Rings and I was very surprised how into it the boys were. But when Legolas came on the screen Joshua said, "Look mommy, it's your boyfriend!" :-)
Caleb was in such a dancing mood tonight so I moved the furniture out of the living room and we turned on the rock station on digital cable and the four of us danced around. What a sight that was!
I talked my sister into coming here for a visit tomorrow. This time tomorrow there will be three adults, five boys and three dogs here...and I will be loving every second of it!

We bought the boys a little 4 foot pool so we have been having so much fun with that. It's my allergies, I don't know why they're so bad all of a sudden.
Yesterday I woke up with another headache and by 8 I was back in bed with a full blown migraine. I was in bed all day. I got up to give the boys lunch and then got back in bed. I called Clay around 3 to please bring me more sinus meds. I felt so sorry for the boys, I couldn't do anything with them. Before Clay left he told them, "Mommy is sick so you have to behave and help her out" So Caleb came in and saw the warm wash cloth on my forehead and he said, "Here mommy, I'll put more water on it" He took it to the sink and got it wet and brought it back soaking wet, dripping everywhere, put it on my face and it was ice cold! LOL Then he said, "If you need any more favors let me know." Joshua came in and asked me to read to him and I said,"Josh, when my headache is gone I'll read to you" Caleb said, "What is it? If it's an easy book I'll read it to him" My little helper. :-)
Clay was a big help. He left work to bring me my meds and then when he came home he made dinner and took the boys outside to play wiffle ball since they were cooped up inside with me. Then he came in and bathed the boys and put them to bed then cleaned the kitchen.
I am still having computer problems so it's hard to even check email anymore.
I have to do some laundry today but I want to take the boys to the playground to get them out again. I guess Jonah was neglected too, he just dropped his ball at my feet and is staring at me.
I'm off to play fetch...

We are back and I had a fabulous time home! It was so nice to see everyone and we even got to go to a Pittsburgh Pirates game.
Last night we finally went to see Spidey2- awesome movie! I don't usually like sequel's to movies but this movie was really, really good. Our theatre has a military discount so when Clay paid for the tickets he said "two military" and the guy said, "Sorry, Sony isn't accepting discounts for the Spiderman movie" omg! It's not even the fact of the money, but just how stinking cheap Sony is. What a crock. But it was a good movie and the kids enjoyed it. Well...Caleb did anyway. Halfway thru the movie Joshua got out of his seat and asked me to pick him up so I put him on my lap and I noticed how heavy he got so I was going to tell him to get back in his chair. I looked down at him- he was fast asleep!
Tonight we're going to take the boys to the arcade at the mall. Caleb wanted to go last night but Clay was carrying a sleeping Joshua so we told him we'd come back.
Clay's school is over tomorrow so no more of these awesome hours.
I am trying to get motivated to go cut the grass for Clay. It needs done really badly before the housing nazi's (lol) see it.
Have a great rest of the week!

We have decided to go to Pennsylvania for the weekend. We'll leave between 2 & 4 (depending on when Clay's done with school) and we'll head home Monday morning. It's a long drive just for two days but I'm ready to go home and with Caleb starting school this is our last chance to go home for awhile.
Yesterday I finally went and registered Caleb for school. He has open house on the 4th of August and starts school on the 5th. Very early.
Then I went to Wal Mart to get snacks for the trip. I also had to go to the hospital to get my records from my Doctor in PA so I had a nice afternoon without the boys. (Clay was home)
I am having a lot of computer problems. My computer keeps shutting down no matter what I'm doing. We thought it might be the power cord so we got a new one but it's still doing it. Last night I was burning cd's for the trip and right on the last song recording the computer shut down. Very frustrating!! Then the four of us sat down to play the game "Life" and right when we started the computer shut down. We ended up having to play the Old Fashioned way- the board game! Yikes!! lol
So have a great 4th of July weekend and I'll be back next week.
USA! USA! USA!

I am having a fairly nice week. Saturday was Caleb's last Tball game. He got a trophy and I got a picture of just him with his Coaches. Sunday after church we went to a Chinese Buffet for lunch and then got the boys hair cuts. We came home and I washed the car while the boys played in the sprinklers. Caleb told me he was done in the sprinklers so I told him to turn it off, he went over and couldn't turn the handle so I grabbed the nozzle and sprayed him. He was laughing telling me to stop it b/c he was done. I put the nozzle down and went over and was trying to turn the handle so the water would turn off and behind me I hear, "Oh Momeeeee" and I turn around and Caleb picked up the nozzle and squirted me. He got me soaking wet. LOL
I'm doing big cleaning this week. When we have the a/c on, which we've had on constantly for the past month, the water comes out in our back yard and makes a huge, mud puddle. So of course when Jonah goes outside he goes straight to that and comes in muddy so I feel like I'm constantly cleaning the floors.
I'm hoping to go to Nashville this weekend, they have a big carnival for the 4th of July that looks like it will be fun. I just know it's going to be crazy crowded.
Thank you, Daddy, for taking the family photo. You Rock!
I talked to Chris today. Chris is nice, isn't he? Yes, as a matter of fact he is!

Today was a very emotional day for me.
I was reading the Fort Campbell Courier this morning when I read an article about a Soldier from here killed in Iraq last week. Now, of course, I am saddened by all the deaths, but for some reason this one really, really upset me. The end of the article said he was survived by his wife, a 7y/o son and a 2 month old daughter.
I don't know why but I went and got the phone book and I looked up their names and saw they lived on base.
After Clay got home from work I asked him to drive me to her house.
An older woman answered the door and I said, "Hi, Can I please speak to Miss Jackie?" and she said, "Sure, what's your name?" and I said, "Elizabeth...But she doesn't know me" and there were about ten people at the door staring at me. At that point I wasn't sure if I should be there but she came out on the porch and I said, "I"m sorry to bother you but I read about your husband this morning and I just wanted to come over and thank you for his Service and your sacrifice to our Country." Her eyes filled up with tears and she said, "come here" and gave me a huge hug!
I felt so sorry for her. She said she doesn't know how she makes it through every day. She said she cries in the shower, cries when she's eating, just constantly breaking down. She said nights and mornings are the hardest, in the morning she wakes up and starts getting out of bed but then she has that, "what's wrong?" feeling and then she remembers.
They've been stationed here for 5 1/2 years and the Army will let her stay here for six months before she has to leave.
Her husband was to only be in Iraq for six weeks and he was due home July 1 and they were going to be moving to another base.
He got to see the baby when she was two weeks old so she said they got alot of good pictures before he went back.
I felt better but worse after leaving. I was there for only about ten minutes but she just talked and talked and talked. And I was just staring at her listening but I was thinking, "how can this thirty year old be a widow??"
She said she really appreciates our prayers, so please, the next time you pray say a prayer for Jackie, Paul Jr. & Amy.

Sunday we had a really nice day. We stayed home and grilled and watched a movie. We took Jonah to the walking track and we saw a skunk and deer!
Last night Caleb's tball game was cancelled, he had a game tonight and has another one tomorrow.
I made this for dinner tonight so I wanted to share the recipe. It is one of my favorite meals and it is really quick and simple to make so it's great for game/practice nights.

Easy Chicken and Dumplings

4-5 8 in flour tortillas
3 14 1/2oz cans chicken broth
1 12oz can chunk white chicken
1 5oz can evaporated milk
1 Tbsp flour
salt and pepper to taste

Lightly sprinkle tortillas with the flour and place in a stack. Cut into bite size pieces. Preheat one burner to low. On another burner at med-high heat: Bring broth, salt and pepper to a boil and quickly drop tortilla pieces in, one at a time. Stir lightly. Move tot he burner which was preheated to low. Cook uncovered 17 minutes. Add drained chicken and evaporated milk to warm thoroughly.

My boys even like this and they are as picky as picky gets!
I'm off to visit now!

There...I posted... I had such a good child hood and I can only hope that I am as good of a parent as my mom and dad. My dad always had time with us whether it was school work or play. Any time I had a problem, no matter what it was, I would go to him for advice, and to this day I still call him! lol Anything we did that he didn't approve of we were immediately forgiven and hugged. He is one of the most God-like men I have ever known and I'm so thankful to have him as my Father.
I love you, Daddykins!
I could not ask for a better husband. Clay is always helping around the house and with the boys. Yesterday I made his Father's Day breakfast and went upstairs and I came down and he had cleaned the kitchen. Today is Father's Day and he let me sleep in and went and got donuts! He is so supportive of me with any crazy idea I come up with! He is such a good Father and will raise these boys to be Godly men and great dads. He takes time to spend with them individually and together and I know as they get older they will appreciate that more and more.
I love you, Clay!

Last night we went to Nashville for a baseball game. We bought the family fun package which included four tickets, four hot dogs, four drinks and a 25% off coupon at the souvenir shop. The game was a lot of fun. Joshua wasn't too into it but Caleb really was. I traded seats with Caleb so he could sit by Clay and Clay was explaining everything that was happening. There was a woman in front of Caleb and he kept kicking her seat so I asked him if he wanted to trade me seats again b/c there was no one in front of me. He said yes but then something happened and the crowd started cheering and he said, "um, no, I'll stay here so daddy can keep telling me what's happening." :-)
After the game they did fireworks and the boys absolutely loved it. I did too as watching fireworks is one of my favorite things!
We got home very late and my Jonah was such a good boy, there were no surprises on the carpets and he didn't get into anything!
This morning we celebrated Father's Day early since Sunday's are usually rushed b/c of church. I let Clay sleep in and then I made pancakes and bacon for breakfast.
This morning we are going to the air show and kiddie carnival here on base so I'll be by later this afternoon to visit.
Have a great weekend!

Clay is in school for the next couple of weeks and I am really getting spoiled by his hours! We took the car to get the oil changed and then went to Long John Silver's for dinner.
Caleb is supposed to have a game tonight, so far the weather is cooperating. I feel like we're back at Ft.Lewis, Washington! I got an email from the coach saying the game was cancelled and the Youth Center told her that any game that is cancelled will not be made up. These poor kids have had a lousy season- weather wise.
The other night Clay took the trash out and I was bringing out the recycables and we saw a big blonde puppy walk over to our house. I held my hand out and he lifted his paw to shake! He was an older dog and his nails were really long and I could tell he hadn't been bathed in awhile. He didn't have a collar and I said to Clay, "I think he's abandoned." What a lot of Military trash does is when they move off base and they don't want to bring their pets instead of dealing with it like a responsible adult and finding it a new home, they just let it loose. (Can you tell this is a sore point with me? lol) Clay told me to go in and get food and water so I came in and I'm getting Jonah's extra dishes and filling them (and I had to give Jonah some b/c he saw what I was doing and got all excited) but I'm in there just sobbing and already planning on keeping this dog! I start opening the door to go back out and Clay comes in laughing- the owners dog came and got him! He is two houses down and blind in one eye so he gets lost easily. Which I'm glad he does have a home but if he gets lost easily why wouldn't you keep a collar on him? We would have seen that he was next door and taken him home.
Anyway, yesterday I had a dentist appt. The Dr. was very old and kept calling me "darling" and "baby" and the whole time he's doing his thing him and the assistant are gossiping about someone. They said she's moving on base so I thought, what if I knew her and they're sitting here talking about her. I'm going to find a new dentist.
When I got home it was so cute- Clay and the boys were sitting at the table doing a craft. They made a really cool fish tank.
I was feeling sore so I got on the couch and Clay cleaned the kitchen, put the boys to bed, got on the couch with me and played with my hair. Maybe I should go to the dentist more often! ;-)

Yesterday after church we took the boys to McDonald's so they could play on the play gym after they ate. They only got to play for a little bit b/c it started raining. We hope to take them to Chuck E Cheese soon b/c Joshie was really sad!
Clay had to run into Wal Mart and then I had to run into Old Navy. Then we went to Border's.
We came home and Clay had bought me a King of Queens season 1 dvd so we watched a couple of episodes.
We played hide and go seek with the boys last night and let me just start off by saying, Clay is the master at hiding places! LOL Now, he's too tall to hide himself, so he finds places for the three of us. He hid Caleb in my bedroom and it took me about 15 minutes to find him and I mean, this is in one room, there's only so many places to hide. I can't believe how well Caleb does, too with not moving and being quiet. Then he hid Joshua in the winter clothes box in my closet and I had checked there but I thought there's no way Josh would hide in there w/out getting scared. I was by the bathroom and couldn't find him so Clay said, "Joshua, say something" and I hear this little voice say, "I'm in the box!" it was sooo cute! I hid behind the futon and all of a sudden I hear this sniffing and whining and next thing I know my beast dog is pushing the futon out of the way and he jumps on my back! Jonah found me before the boys could!
We ordered pizza for dinner. Caleb has a new favorite- stuffed crust pizza with sausage! lol
Clay was chosen to go to a school to learn how to prepare Soldiers to deploy. The school is a couple of weeks and his schedule is so much lighter then his usual work day.
I am making meat loaf for dinner tonight and then I'm going to go to Wal Mart by myself. :-)

Clay got off work early yesterday so we finally went to see Shrek2. omg it was sooo funny! We splurged and went to Olive Garden for dinner again. I always get the same thing every time- the garlic chicken alfredo with broccoli. After eating popcorn I wasn't too hungry so I got the garlic chicken pizza and figured I could bring the leftover's home for later. BLAH! I didn't like it at all, I was very disappointed.
We came home and Clay took the boys to Wal Mart and I had a couple of hours to myself which was very nice. I did my toe nails and watched "What Women Want" LOL
This morning we took Caleb to t-ball and they had their pictures taken and I can't wait to see them. They looked so cute with the whole team and the coaches. After the game I ran into the commissary and we came home and Clay and I watched "Along Came Polly" which he had surprised me and bought at Wal Mart. :-)
I think we're just staying in tomorrow after church, maybe get some yard work done. I hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

We had such a great weekend! Yesterday we had to get up early for Caleb's t-ball game. After that we came home to let Jonah out and bebopped around the house for awhile and ate an early lunch before going to Clarksville to run errands. We went to Old Navy, Toys R Us, Wal Mart, a Book store and Clay and Caleb ran into a Sports store to get Caleb pants and cleats. We went to Applebee's for dinner and that's where we saw on the tv that Former President Reagan had died.
This morning we went to church, I think we'll be really happy there, I really like the Pastor. This morning he said some really nice words about Reagan and Bush so, of course, scored extra points with me! :-)
After church we went to Red Lobster for lunch and spent the rest of the day relaxing at home.
Clay and the boys are outside playing football and I'm going to go start on some of the post weekend mess.

Tuesday night I had a really bad night. I could not fall asleep at all! I remember seeing 4:30am on the clock and I must have fallen asleep right after that.
So all day yesterday I was so tired but I didn't want to nap b/c I knew then I wouldn't sleep at night.
I was dragging all day and my friend came over and it was all I could do to not sleep while we were talking! lol
Last night I went to Wal Mart and on the drive home I was watching the sky- we had awesome lightning. It wasn't raining, I didn't even hear thunder, but the sky kept lighting up.
When I got home Clay and I put the boys to bed and he made us sundaes and we sat on the patio watching the sky.
But the mosquito's were out in full force so we had to come back in! lol
Hugs to Karen today, I am thinking about you, Sissy!

I had such a fun day. Clay was off today b/c he had to work Memorial Day. Jonah had a vet appt. this morning that Clay took him to and when he got home he picked us up and we went to the Olive Garden for lunch. I got sooo full on bread sticks and salad! ;-)
After that we went to the Nashville Zoo. They didn't have too many of the big animals we like- monkeys, bears or giraffes. But they had signs saying "coming soon" and a picture of the animal that they will have later this summer so we'll have to go again maybe in August. They had a jungle play land for kids and I don't know who had more fun there, me and Clay or the boys! They had all kinds of slides and bridges and you could climb up ropes. It was so much fun, almost funner then seeing the animals!
We left very hungry so we stopped at Jack in the Box on the way home.
Jonah was very happy to see us, this was the longest he was home alone. I'm proud to say he had no accidents while we were gone! :-)

Um, did I just blink and May was gone??
This morning Clay and Caleb got up early and went to the Shoppette and got Krispy Kreme donuts. He made a new friend there and b/c he was so excited I had to make use of the "ooops station" lol
Afterwards Clay and the boys ran into Toys R Us and found Teen Titan action figures and then I ran into Wal Mart for french fries b/c we were going to grill for lunch. Clay cut the grass and the boys helped him.
We will probably stay in tonight and tomorrow I have a dentist appointment, Wed. This has been such a nice day. We got up early and went to Caleb's t-ball game. His team won! :-) Caleb hit two doubles!
After that we went to the Chinese Buffet for lunch and then to PetSmart. Jonah out grew his collar so we bought him a new one. It is so cute, it's blue with yellow bones all over it. We also got him nail clippers.
We came home and did Jonah's nails and I think we will stick with the groomers for that job! It took us about 45 minutes to do the job and his nails are sharper now then before! LOL
Clay grilled burgers for dinner and now we are going to take the boys outside to ride bikes. Caleb asked his dad to take off his training wheels so he is teaching Caleb to ride.
We're having cheese cake for dessert, come on over and I'll cut you a piece!

Happy Friday!!!
Clay and I have a daily devotional book that we read every day and last nights really touched us so I wanted to share it.

Someday when the kids are gone, there will be plenty of ice cream just for Barbara and me.I won't find the can of Hershey's chocolate on the lower shelf...empty and with a sticky bottom. We will return to a small refrigerator and eat on the antique table we used when we were first married.
Cars will be clean again. The floorboard won't be covered with Sunday School papers or petrified McDonald's french fries. And gum, Legos,Matchbox cars, doll combs and even fishhooks won't be smushed into the carpet.
Doors will be shut, and I won't have to go through the house turning off every light. We won't stumble over herds of teddy bears, dolls and stuffed animals grazing or napping on the carpet.
Fewer tools will be lost. No frantic search parties at bedtime for lost blankets. Socks will miraculously find their mates, and the car keys will be right where I left them.
But of course other things will have changed, too.
When the kids are gone, we won't hear the pitter-patter of little feet running down the hallway, then feel a warm, wiggly body crawling into bed and snuggling with us early on Saturday morning.
No more little-girl, frilly Easter dresses or first days of school. No winter pic-nics or log cabin playhouses. No more fishing and hunting trips or wiener roasts or just goofing around with a childish hand in mine.
Someday there will be no more handmade Father's Day cards or wooden plaques titled "World's Best Mom." No more crayon drawings, verses and stick people drawn on construction paper and displayed on the refrigerator.
So until someday arrives, we're going to cherish our moments together. We're going to try to take seriously, but happily, the apostle Paul's counsel:
"making the most of your time."
Sticky or not.

Now go get some Kleenex and go hug your kids! :-)

Clay is back from the field. Taking care of Clay, Caleb, Joshua and Jonah is enough now, I'm done! :-)
Although his little lopsided smile melted my heart...

This morning I woke up to Caleb in my face saying, "Is it time for t-ball??" Not quite...LOL
T-ball is tonight at 6 and I think I'm as excited, if not more, then Caleb! He has been waiting two years for this day.
Clay goes to the field tomorrow (boo hoo!) but he has a four day weekend. (yaaay!!)
I really want to have a yard sale to get rid of our baby things and to clear out the garage but it's so hard getting ready for it. And we are way on the side of base so I don't know how many people would even find us.
Also on Friday Clay's having his first Banquet with his Battalion. I'm not able to go with him b/c they didn't offer child care. He's doing the Color Guard so he'll have fun w/out me.
I can't believe how quickly May is going!!

Yesterday was a pretty nice day. We got up and went to Wal Mart. Spent waaay too much! Came home and had lunch then I did big cleaning in the living room. I moved all the furniture to dust and vacuum. I scrubbed the carpet (smells good thanks to Corgibuddy!) and sprayed the couches with febreeze. I highly recommend Rain Clean scented Pine Sol. It smells so good and this morning it was the first thing I could smell when I came downstairs.
After I was done cleaning Clay told me to lay down on the couch and watch a movie and he would make dinner! :-)
After dinner we had sundaes. Karen, thank you so much for that c-mas present, you don't know how often we have sundaes! It is so fun to have dessert out of old fashioned dishes!
Clay just left for Staff Duty so he won't be back til the morning. I am going to finish big cleaning in the downstairs today and then tomorrow while he's sleeping I'll have the car so I can go to the Post Office and then I want to go to the library. I can't believe I've been here two months and haven't been there yet!
Enjoy your day!

Happy Thursday! Almost the weekend!!
Today I'm doing a little cleaning, I like to have the house cleaned for the weekend.
Yesterday I went to the Youth Center and changed Caleb's t-ball team. He will have practice now from 6pm to 7pm so that works out better with Clay's work schedule. Plus I'm hoping for better coaches! His first practice is on Tuesday.
Tonight I would like to go to Wal Mart and do some serious grocery shopping. Tomorrow night I'd like to take Jonah to PetSmart. I've been wanting to go for awhile to get his nail clippers but it's pretty far and we just haven't had the time.
Saturday I signed the boys up for a marathon at the Stadium here on base. They run just a couple of times around the track and get a t-shirt and then after the run they have a Family Fun Fair.
Sunday Clay has Staff Duty (yuck!) which means he'll leave here at 8:30am and won't be home til Monday 9:00am and b/c he was awake for 24 hours he'll come home and sleep all day.
I better go get lunch started! Have a great day!

Yesterday was very secure. lol I got all the laundry done from my trip and put away all the laundry Clay had done while I was gone. I got alot of my big cleaning done and today I want to work in the boys room. They just have too many toys that they don't play with and we want to have a yard sale soon so I really need to just bite the bullet and get rid of some toys.
Clay got home early last night, a little after five. I made his favorite dinner- lasagna with three cheese garlic bread. yummy! I had a salad and I bought Tangy Tomato Bacon dressing by Kraft. omg it was sooooo good!!! Even my three year old liked it!
I hade made banana bread and I put it on the counter to cool and I went upstairs and when I came back down one of the breads was missing...I told you Jonah got bigger! He ate the whole loaf so it must have been good!
After dinner we played Mario again and I don't know if it's Mario 1 or 2 but it's the world where you're in water and that big red fish is swimming at the bottom back and forth trying to eat you. Well I was on that world and Jonah comes in (have I mentioned my dog watches tv?) and he sits down to watch but then he sees that big fish and he jumps up and starts barking and moves back and forth across the tv along with the fish. It was *so* funny! Then I watched fear factor which I don't know why I bother, all I do is cover my eyes anyway. I had another sinus headache last night so Clay took the boys upstairs and played with them and I made some tea and got on the couch and watched Pretty Woman. It started thundering and lightning last night,I just love thunderstorms at night. After Clay put the boys to bed we played Scrabble. Nice and cozy! ;-)

** HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY**

Today was a really nice day. I haven't blogged b/c Friday my parents got here and we were just sitting around visiting when I hear the front door and I look- it's my sister and nephews! What a nice surprise! We had a really nice weekend and then Sunday night Clay told me I could drive back to Ft. Polk with my sister and spend a week with her. We had to drive separate b/c of having the five boys but the trip was so much fun. Long...But fun. It took 12 hours. I had a great week and then yesterday Caleb, Joshua and I headed home. We slept in this morning and then went for a drive and Clay showed me the camp grounds he found where we'll be going camping. It is beautiful, I can't wait! We went to Wal Mart to get a couple of things and came home and I had a sinus headache so I fell asleep for a little bit. We went outside and Clay grilled hamburgers and after dinner we went outside to play with the boys. Tonight the boys watched tv while Clay and I played Mario on Nintendo. I know- old school, but I love it!
I can't believe how big Jonah got in the week I was gone! He is bigger then Caleb now and he's only four months old, yikes!
This was my first Mother's Day with Clay in three years, he was either in Arizona, Korea or Iraq, so it was nice to get spoiled again.

Well my busy day turned into a busy night. Clay has an inspection this morning so last night he had to get his uniform ready. He had to write three counseling statements and put together our new entertainment center, all last night! I got the whole downstairs cleaned, dusted and mopped so I was exhausted. He started worrying that he wouldn't be able to get to bed b/c he had to get up at 5. So he did just half the ent. center and started on putting his pins and ribbons on his uniform. He asked me to help him out and I said, "With what?" and he handed me his boots and said, "Shine these" LOL I have never shined his boots before so that was interesting. I think I did a pretty good job even though I was covered in Kiwi! Then I ironed his Bdu's and his Class A shirt and tie. So we were able to bed by 1.
I hope he is able to come home early tonight as he has to finish the ent. center and we have to go to Wal Mart before my parents get here. I just called them and they are in Ohio.
Have a great weekend!

Oh my what a busy day! First off I'd like to give Corgibuddy big hugs for help with my *gorgeous* blog! I feel so at home now! ;-)
And to Karen, big hugs, for her support of me in blogland. ;-)
Last night T-ball try outs didn't go as well as I had hoped. There were about a hundred kids and all the parents and kids sat in a gym while a woman was giving instructions. She said they would call your child's' name by teams and when they called your name that team would go out side so you can meet your coach and talk about the season. There were 11 teams and Caleb was on the last team. We went outside and the other ten teams were in groups talking and I thought, wow, they are serious! We got in a circle and she passed out these parents code of ethics to sign and we signed it and she said, "I guess that's it, any questions?" and we were all taken aback and someone said, "What's your name??" and she said it and we just all stood there and someone else said, "When's practice?" and she said, "oh, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5" I found out this is only her second year of coaching t-ball and I feel badly b/c I know the only way for her to learn how is to do it, but I was really looking forward to this and now I feel kind of a let down. Also b/c Clay doesn't get off work until 5:30-6, so I have no idea what we're going to do since we only have one car.
This morning Caleb had his physical so he is completely ready for t-ball and Kindergarten. I can't believe he is going to be in school!!!
My parents are coming in tomorrow for a weekend visit so I really need to finish up cleaning.

Yesterday was a hard day for me. Clay had to give PT tests so he left at 5:30am. He thought he'd be able to come home after it but I never heard from him so I assumed they ran late. He never came home for lunch and I finally heard from him after 2. He said it's a busy day. He didn't get home til 6! Also, at one of the unit's they mixed up Clay's cell phone with his work phone. So like five times I answered the phone and it was for him and I had to say that this was his home. Well one woman called about four times and when I would say, "hello?" she would hang up. Finally on the fifth time she said, "I guess I have the wrong number, I'm trying to find SSG Grimes." I said, "This is his house." I thought she would apologize for "pranking me" b/c I know it was her and she knows I know (lol) but she didn't say anything.
The spare room is finally clean! That was a three day job.I have a few more odd jobs but then we'll be settled in. Still haven't gone to get a new ent. center b/c Clay was, obviously, tired when he got home last night.
Last night at 3am I woke up to Caleb sobbing. I went in and he said he had a nightmare. He said, "Mommy, where do nightmares come from, why do I have them" Such questions for the middle of the night! lol I held him and took him potty. Well Joshua was awake in his bed and he starts fake crying and says, "I had a nightmare, too!" So I had to go hug him and hold him. Caleb was still crying when he got back in bed so we prayed that he wouldn't be scared anymore and that he would have good dreams. Then I read a couple of books to them.
Today I will work in the garage. I don't think we're going to park in there, but I atleast want some kind of order in there. Tonight at 1900 we meet Caleb's t-ball coach. He is soooo excited! I think after that I'll bring them home and then I'll run to Wal Mart for groceries.
I better go get caught up on my email.

<a href="javascript:HaloScan('<$BlogItemNumber$>');" target="_self"> | <a href="javascript:HaloScanTB('<$BlogItemNumber$>');" target="_self">

Today was a nice day. After "church" we came home and I started dinner for the crock pot while Clay went to the PX to get a lawn mower and a new tv. When he got back he and the boys went outside and they "helped" daddy mow the lawn. I dug up the front yard to plant flowers.
After dinner we went upstairs and I cleaned out the storage closet while the boys played Playstation. I got the closet done and am really happy b/c I thought that would be a two or three day job.
Our tv ended up being too big for our entertainment center so we are trying to figure out what to do. Clay wants to go buy a new ent. center but I can't see spending money on a new one when we just moved in here, that is on the bottom of my priority list. But he doesn't want a smaller tv. He usually does things my way so I guess this time I should give in. He is a great husband.
He is putting the boys to bed and just yelled down that the bed is a mess. I guess I took a lot out of the closet and just put it on the bed. <grin>
Have a great week!

I'M BAAAAAACK!!!!!!

:-)
